Envision Virginia Beach 2040 Committee to Meet Dec. 2

Envision Virginia Beach 2040, a citizens group appointed by the City Council, will meet Friday, Dec. 2, from 9 to11 a.m. at the Strategic Growth Area Office in Town Center, 222 Central Park Ave., Armada Hoffler Building, Suite 1050.  Lisa Howard, CEO of Smart Beginnings South Hampton Roads, and Karen Kehoe, Virginia Beach GrowSmart coordinator, will discuss the importance of early childhood education for the future of Virginia Beach and the region. Marcy Sims, director of the Virginia Beach Public Library, will discuss the current reality and future trends as related to public library services.

The City Council appointed Envision Virginia Beach 2040 to research trends and to visualize where the city will be in 30 years. John Malbon and Gary McCollum are co-chairmen.
