Toys and Games the Colonial Fun Way! June 14

To celebrate the end of the school year and kick off the summer, visit the Adam Thoroughgood House for Colonial Fun Day on June 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This action-packed day revolves around the activities and games of the colonial era and appeals to all ages. 

Colonial Fun Day is a free event. Visitors can tests their skill with graces or pick-up sticks. And grab a friend and start a game of ninepins, quoits or trap ball.


Guests can cool off by touring the Adam Thoroughgood House, where staff will run tours every hour on the hour. Refreshing ice cream treats also will be available at the gift shop.

About the Virginia Beach Historic Houses:

The Virginia Beach Historic Houses include the Francis Land House, Adam Thoroughgood House and Lynnhaven House. Along with the Princess Anne County Training School/Union Kempsville High School Museum, the historic houses are owned and operated by the City of Virginia Beach Department of Museums. The department provides stewardship of the city’s historic resources, as well as programs to educate the community about local history.
