Commonwealth v. Quentin Edward Taylor; Sexual Abuse of Teen Draws 13 Years and 4 Months in Prison

Monday, March 24, 2014

Colin D. Stolle, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the city of Virginia Beach, announced that Quentin Edward Taylor, 49 years old, who previously resided in the 1200 block of New Land Drive in Virginia Beach, Virginia, was sentenced today by Circuit Court Judge H. Thomas Padrick for four (4) counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery.  Judge Padrick sentenced Taylor to 40 years in prison with 26 years and 8 months suspended, leaving 13 years and 4 months to serve.

Taylor pled guilty on November 13, 2013. Had this matter gone to trial, the Commonwealth’s evidence would have proven that between September 2004 and December 2006, Taylor sexually abused a teenage boy, known to him, on multiple occasions in the city of Virginia Beach. The victim reported the abuse to investigators with the Virginia Beach Police Department in July 2013.  During the course of the investigation, Taylor admitted to the abuse to both the victim and detectives.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Philip C. Hollowell.  Please contact Macie Pridgen if additional information is desired.
