Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Celebrate the arts with the whole family!  Join the fun as the City of Virginia Beach Arts and Humanities Commission and the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts present the 13th annual Kids Arts Palooza on Sunday, March 23 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts.  Admission is $5 per child (ages 2-14), and kids under 2 are free.  Face-painting is included in each child’s ticket. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Sandler Center Foundation’s ACCESS the ARTS program.

“X Out Bullying” presented by Virginia Stage Company will take the Main Stage during the event.  The show is suitable for children of all ages and is sure to entertain and educate.

Visitors will delight in the region’s only arts-focused children’s event featuring interactive stations, ranging from an instrument petting zoo to cupcake decorating. Other activities will include live entertainment, face painting, make-’n’-take crafts, and much more!  Kids Arts Palooza gives local children and their families the opportunity to interact with various forms of the arts in a relaxed, fun and inquisitive environment. Returning to the event will be the Street Eats component, where food trucks will be serving up delicious food on the Sandler Center Outdoor Plaza.

New to the event this year is the VIK (Very Important Kids) Hour from 1 to 2 p.m., where kids can enjoy exclusive early admission, a personalized make-’n’-take project, face painting, receive a souvenir t-shirt, and more for just $15! Limited space available!  For tickets to attend the VIK, log onto, call 1-877-Ynot-Tix, or visit the Sandler Center Box Office.

“Spring into Summer Camps” is a new and FREE aspect of Kids Arts Palooza happening in the Miller Studio Theatre. Peruse through some of the most exciting and unique summer camps this region has to offer, and even reserve your child’s spot!
