Celebrate the 28th Annual Twelfth Night at the Francis Land House

Thursday, December 26, 2013

Join the Land family and their guests to celebrate Twelfth Night on Jan. 6 at the Francis Land House. Costumed interpreters will portray the Lands as they enjoy 18th-century festivities to mark the “Twelfth Night” of Christmas, or Christian feast of the Epiphany. Visitors may participate in Twelfth Night traditions that include dancing with the Williamsburg Heritage Dance Ensemble, sampling authentic Twelfth Night cake and burning holiday greens for good luck. Music of the era will be provided by the Itinerant Band.

A limited number of tickets are still available for $7.50 per person ($5 for members). Tickets are timed in 20-minute intervals beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the Francis Land House. Guests are invited to enjoy music and refreshments following the structured segment of the program.

The Francis Land House, at 3131 Virginia Beach Blvd., was built circa 1805 and served as the residence of Francis Moseley Land, a wealthy and prominent plantation owner in Princess Anne County. For more information, call (757) 385-5100 or visit www.museumsvb.org.
