2013 SK8R Bash drops in at Williams Farm Skate Park

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation and Wave Riding Vehicles present the 2013 SK8R Bash at the City’s newest skate facility: Williams Farm Skate Park (5269 Learning Circle). Held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 10 am – 5 pm, this annual event includes an amateur skateboard competition with prizes for the top three category winners, plus activities that are all things skate-related!

Williams Farm Skate Park is a 25,000 square foot, concrete skate park that features a tiered bowl, flow park and urban skate plaza. Competition includes beginner, intermediate and advanced heats in flow, street and bowl. Beginner competition is restricted to youth age 14 & under; intermediate and advanced levels are open to all ages. Competition applications are available at www.VBgov.com/sk8rbash. Deadline to submit applications are October 4, 2013.


New this year! Get the best of both skate and surf worlds with Recreation & Leisure Students from Virginia Wesleyan College who will be on hand to conduct tarp surfing sessions – try new skate tricks with this latest way of catching waves without the ocean! Participants must be age 8 and up.


2013 SK8R Bash is free and open to the public, beginning at 10 am and ending at 5 pm on Saturday, October 19. Live music, interactive happenings including a climbing wall and an open street course for non-competitors will be additional event attractions. This event is brought to you by Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation and Wave Riding Vehicles (WRV), plus event sponsors Checkered Flag Toyota Scion and CHKD Sports Medicine.
