Virginia Beach Sweeps Small Business Awards

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Virginia Beach is a mecca for small businesses. That’s what CNNMoney.com said last month, when it declared Virginia Beach the easiest city in the country in which to start a business, and the second-friendliest to small businesses.

Now there’s new confirmation: Three Virginia Beach businesses swept the top three honors in the small-business category for Best Places to Work 2013 from Inside Business, the Hampton Roads business journal. The winners are:

In the medium-sized business category, another Virginia Beach company, Commonwealth Financial Partners, took 3rd place. Two more Beach companies – JES Foundation Repair and Paramount Builders – were named honorees in the same category.

In addition, two Virginia Beach firms were named to the Best Places to Work Hall of Fame: AAA of Tidewater and DOMA Technologies.

“Virginia Beach is for small-business lovers,” Mayor William D. Sessoms, Jr. said. “It’s a great city to find customers and a terrific place to live and work. I’ve always believed that, but it’s nice to get confirmation from impartial judges.”
