City Encourages Community Input July 16 for North Landing River Plan

Tuesday, July 02, 2013

The City of Virginia Beach will host a public input meeting July 16 for its North Landing River Greenway and Management Plan. Anyone interested in the continued management and protection of this vital corridor – the center of the city’s largest watershed – is invited to learn, provide input and shape the plan.

The city aims to protect this hidden treasure while considering possible non-intensive recreational uses and ecotourism activities, in a carefully planned and sustainable manner.  Participants will explore shared management strategies among federal, state, local and private landowners.

This is the first meeting in a series to gather input from all stakeholders who have an interest in ensuring that the North Landing River corridor is maintained in a collaborative and responsible manner – for the enjoyment of all citizens and visitors, now and in the future.

The meeting will be Tuesday, July 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Creeds Elementary School, 920 Princess Anne Road.
