Colonial Fun in the Sun on June 22 at Adam Thoroughgood House

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Celebrate the end of the school year and kick off the summer with colonial fun at the Adam Thoroughgood House on June 22, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities and games of the Colonial era will be played on the grounds around the house throughout the day while tours of the historic home will take place on the hour, every hour.

This free event allows visitors of all ages to partake in pastimes of the Colonial era, some that are familiar today. Join a game of ninepins, quoits or trap ball, or test your skills with pick-up sticks or marbles. There will be plenty of hands on fun, so bring a friend.

The Adam Thoroughgood House is one of the oldest Colonial homes in Virginia, dating to circa 1719. The Colonial Fun Day is free and open to the public. The Adam Thoroughgood House is located at 1636 Parish Road in Virginia Beach. Call 460-7588 or 460-7530 for information or visit www.museumsvb.org.
