19th Street improvements between Arctic Avenue and Parks Avenue were completed October 2020.

The corridor improvements provide a new street section, storm drainage system, traffic signal improvements, overhead to underground utility relocations, and streetscape and hardscape improvements, including wider sidewalks, street trees, pedestrian lights, artistic paver intersections, artistic wayfinding markers, and site amenities. 

Such improvements for the 19^th Street corridor were a top priority of the Resort Area Strategic Action Plan (RASAP, 2008). Its completion enhances the character distinction of the Central Beach Entertainment District and validates its purpose as a multimodal corridor. Along with 17^th  Street and 18^th Street, 19^th Street improvements are part of a larger vision to enhance pedestrian, bicycle, and traffic connections between the ViBe District and Resort Area destinations.
