The management and staff of the Office of Real Estate Assessor for the City of Virginia Beach are pleased to provide you with on-line access to property information. We hope you will find this site to be a useful business and research tool, as well as an effective way to ensure that your assessment is fair and equitable.

Considerable thought and effort was employed to make our site as user friendly and informative as possible. For your assistance, we have provided two ways to access information, by a property identifier number (GPIN), and property address.

If you are interested in evaluating the accuracy or fairness of your assessment, please take time to review the "Assessment Process" section. This section conveys the reasons for property assessments. It also gives a brief explanation of the appraisal methods used in valuing property for assessment purposes. There is also an overview of how a residential neighborhood is assessed. Additionally, this section provides an explanation of your rights and responsibilities as a property owner regarding real estate assessments in Virginia Beach. You may also want to read the "Frequently Asked Questions" section for additional information.

We are hopeful that the information this site provides will significantly improve the extent to which the Assessor's Office meets our customers' needs. Again, my staff and I welcome you to our web page and we hope that you will find the information contained within helpful.

 Sincerely,
