Business Watch

Virginia Beach Business Watch is a program designed to help create lasting, interactive relationships between the Police Department and the local business community. By implementing this program, our goal is to reduce the opportunity for crime at retail/corporate establishments through the use of a few key practices: providing crime prevention training to the business community and increasing police-retail communications and partnerships. These elements (education/communication/partnerships) are proven to be effective tools for reducing crime and the fear of crime in both residential and commercial settings.
What are the benefits to joining?
By becoming a Virginia Beach Business Watch member, you will have the opportunity to have your business evaluated by a knowledgeable, experienced Crime Prevention officer who specializes in retail safety and environmental design strategies. Through this partnership you will be provided with enhanced awareness of your business environment, education on what to do in the event of a crime in your establishment, and a better sense of community through the knowledge and safety issues affecting you and your corporate neighbors.
