2023 North Landing River/Albemarle Sound Estuarine Symposium

"The 2023 North Landing River/Albemarle Sound Estuarine Symposium" will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Virginia Beach Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. 

The one-day event is designed provide awareness while identifying, protecting, and restoring the significant resources of the North Landing River/Albemarle Sound by gathering researchers, professionals, and interested parties to learn about new work taking place in the area since the 2018 symposium and act as a springboard to begin discussions and foster collaboration.

Topics of discussion include: flood reduction in Back Bay; the construction of marsh terraces within Bonney Cove; coastal primary sand dunes as an important line of protection for shoreline areas; marsh restoration and shoreline change assessment, along with other relevant topics, as well as an afternoon panel discussion.
