Youth Softball

Girls Fast Pitch Youth Softball is offered in the Spring and Fall. Games are played at various ballfields throughout the city on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

  • ​12U (ages 10-12)
  • 15U (ages 13-15)
  • 18U (ages 15-18)

Registration is taken on an individual basis through an Area Recreation Association: February 1-15 (Spring) and July 1-15 (Fall). Online registration is available for most Recreation Associations. 

A player’s age on September 30th of the current school year will determine eligibility. EXCEPTION: A player who turns 10 years old during the season (Spring: March-June; Fall: July-November) will have a “league age” of 10 years old. Players must be minimum league age 10 to play in any City Leagues. 

All players MUST have a fully completed contract on file with the Sports Management Office prior to participating in any league games. These contract cards must be accurate and should be updated if any information changes. The deadline for adding new players to a team’s roster for a weekday game is the previous business day by 5:00 p.m. Contract cards are available online at

Players on each team’s roster must meet the eligibility guidelines set forth above by SMA. Each Area Recreation Association is responsible for verifying the information on their team roster is accurate and correct.

High school varsity (V) junior varsity (JV), and junior-junior varsity (JJV) players are not eligible to play if the school and recreation seasons overlap.

  • Practice Starts: August 1
  • Season (approximate): mid-September to mid-November
  • 8 game season (no playoffs)

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​League​ Information

The city is divided into 13​ geographic areas for Parks and Recreation youth sports. Each area has a volunteer Area Chairperson and Community Recreation Association that organizes programs in conjunction with Sports Management. The city offers leagues for youth age 10 through 18. Most Recreation Associations also offer leagues for youth under age 10 called "Farm Leagues.​" 

Recreation Associations will charge a player registration fee. Fees charged and sports/age groups offered vary by area. Players must attend school (K-12) to be eligible. High school varsity and junior varsity players are not eligible for the same community league sport.​​​​​​
