Recreation Association Steering Committee

kids with basketballThe Recreation Association Steering Committee (RASC) was formed to provide guidance and leadership to the Department of Parks & Recreation and the youth athletic leagues, during the proposed transition of the under age 10 "farm leagues" from the Community Recreation Associations to City-Wide Athletics.

RASC is comprised of dedicated volunteers in our Community Recreation Associations as well as staff from City-Wide Athletics. The goal is to establish a youth sports program based on child/youth development, using the National Standards for Youth Sports and Recommendations for Communities (from the National Alliance for Youth Sports) as the foundation. Ultimately, the aim is to provide a safe, positive and fun sports experience for all participants.

The committee will develop a timeline for the proposed transition, a master implementation plan, and measures for success. Player fees, registration procedures, and bylaws will be established. Meeting minutes and related documents are posted below.

Please email with any questions for the committee.
