Saturday, September 7 (Rain Date: September 8) | Children's Workshop ​noon · Show begins at 12:30 p.m. | Williams Farm Park
(Arrive as early as 11:30 a.m. to set up your picnic or to enjoy food from the food trucks)

Hop, skip or jump over to Williams Farm Park for a passport picnic featuring the Afro-Brazilian traditions of Bahia, Brazil. Hailed for their interactive and educational performances all over the world, including New York, Philadelphia, Greece, Brazil and beyond, the members of Ologundê have a made a name for themselves through prime-time performance, high-quality artistry and authenticity, and even providing tours to Bahia! Featuring the unmatched energy and enthusiasm of band leader Dendê, this performance embraces found-object instruments, traditional drums and vocals while putting capeoira, samba de roda, and the dance and brilliant costume of Bahia front and center. Join our Bow Creek Block Party for free family-friendly fun! All ages are invited to play games and take part in activities while our DJ spins tunes. There will be various vendors, exhibitors and delicious eats available for purchase through local food trucks! New this year: we're hosting a Sensory Tent that's dedicated for individuals needing a calm, safe space and organized sensory input for over-stimulation. We are also collecting donations to support our friends at the Virginia Beach Animal Care & Adoption Center. Bow Creek Block PartyFamily Fishing Clinic

Saturday, September 28 | 8:30 a.m. - noon | Lake Lawson/Lake Smith 

Help your child tackle the basics of angling Virginia's waters by attending this free family fishing clinic. You and your child will team up with experienced fishermen for guided instruction and beginner level fishing skills. Lunch is included for registered participants. Come out to Mount Trashmore for Free Fishing Days Presented by DGIF.  Anyone can fish for free and DGIF staff will be on hand to help you get started with demonstrations, tackle boxes and loaner gear. Sundays: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

Now in its 41st year, this free event features over 100 craft vendors each weekend. Crafters will be selling unique handmade items, everything from stocking stuffers to fine works of art, all at budget-friendly prices. To become a vendor, submit an exhibitor application​ and get in front of 5,000 shoppers each weekend. Learn more
