Mount Trashmore Park

Enjoy a movie under the stars at Mount Trashmore Park! Bring blankets and beach chairs to get comfortable as you watch the latest in the Star Wars ​​film series​ on our giant screen. Concessions will be available for purchase.  Back Bay Astronomers will also be onsite with their star-gazing equipment and sunscopes for you to enjoy. Be sure to stop and check them out for a beautiful view of the day and night sky!​



Family Fishing Clinic

Saturday, October 7 | 8:30 am -  1 pm
Munden Point Park
Registration for the clinic is full; stay tuned for information on future dates
Help your child tackle the basics of angling Virginia's waters by attending this free family fishing clinic. Team up with experienced fishermen for guided instruction and beginning fishing skills. Fishing poles, tackle, and bait provided if needed. Hot dog lunch included. Registration is limited to the first 125 participants. Advance registration required​

Trick or TreatGhoula Palooza

Dress up your kids and pets to have a ghoulishly good time Trick-or-Treating through Great Neck Park. Frighteningly fun family fitness activities, crafts, inflatables, and more will ensure the entire family enjoys a beautiful - but spooky - day at the park!​ 

Santa's Stocking Old Fashioned Craft Bazaar

Saturday & Sunday, November 4 & 5 | Princess Anne Recreation Center
Saturday & Sunday, November 18 & 19 | Kempsville Recreation Center
Now in its 39th year, this event features over 100 different craft vendors each weekend. Crafters will be selling unique handmade items, everything from stocking stuffers to fine works of art, all at budget-friendly prices.​ ​The bazaar offers free admission and free on-​site parking to shoppers.
