Summer CarnivalSummer Carnival

May 31 - June 18 | Mount Trashmore Park
Monday - Friday 5 - 10 pm; Saturday & Sunday 2 - 10 pm

Rides, games and traditional state fair foods are all available at the Summer Carnival at Mount Trashmore Park. Located in the parking lot off Edwin Drive, the carnival is great for all ages and offers free admission and free parking. Learn more

Family Fishing ClinicFamily Fishing Clinic

Saturday, June 1 | 8:30 am - 12 pm | Munden Point Park

Age 5-14 with parent or guardian | Help your child(ren) tackle the basics of angling Virginia's waters by attending this free family fishing clinic. Team up with experienced fishermen for guided instruction and beginning fishing skills. Fishing poles, tackle, and bait will be provided. Lunch will be provided. Event is free and limited to the first 125 registered participants. Re​g​istration is full!

Clean the Bay DayClean the Bay Day

Clean the Bay Day is a true Virginia Beach tradition and an annual opportunity for families, military installations, businesses, clubs, civic or church groups to come together for a common cause - clean water. Help the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in their mission to Save the Bay! Learn more

Seatack Community DaySeatack Community Day

Join us at Seatack Recreation Center for a fun, family-focused event that is free and open to the public.  Activities include bounce houses, fitness demonstrations, vendors, games, dancing, rock wall climbing, pool activities, kid’s crafts, music and more. Don’t miss it!

NEW! Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation’s Inclusion Unit will be hosting a Sensory Tent during the event.  This dedicated area is meant as a calming space and will provide various forms of organized sensory input should an individual become over-stimulated.  We are also excited to welcome Beach Closet to the event this year who will be on-site collecting items to assist individuals and families in our community who are homeless.  Please consider bringing new socks, shoes, blankets, toys or personal care items to donate.

Back to School FestivalAloha Back to School Movie Night

Friday, August 16 | 5 - 9 pm | Williams Farm Park (Rain Location: Williams Farm Rec Center)

Let's say ALOHA to summer as we prepare for the start of a new school year! We will be celebrating with a variety of fun-filled, family-friendly activities along with giveaways and door prizes. We will be giving away much-needed school supplies starting at 5 p.m. Supplies are limited and available while they last. The fun will continue with a family movie night showing of Moana in Williams Farm Park beginning at dusk. The event is free and open to the public. Please consider donating school supplies at any of the recreation centers during the month of August. All donations will be distributed at the event. Bring blankets and beach chairs for the movie.

Dress up your kids and pets to have a ghoulishly good time Trick-or-Treating through Great Neck Park. Frighteningly fun family fitness activities, crafts, inflatables, and more will ensure the entire family enjoys a beautiful - but spooky - day at the park!


Santa's StockingSanta's Stocking  Old Fashioned Craft Bazaar

November 2 & 3 | Princess Anne Rec Center
November 16 & 17 | Kempsville Rec Center
9 am - 5 pm on Saturdays; 10 am - 4 pm on Sundays

Now in its 41st year, this event features over 100 craft vendors each weekend. Crafters will be selling unique handmade items, everything from stocking stuffers to fine works of art, all at budget-friendly prices. This event is free for shoppers!
