Rec Center Reopening Guidelines & Procedures

Great news! As of Monday, July 6, all 7 rec centers are open, and activities have been increased to 1-hour blocks *except group fitness. Please be sure to check the hours of operation and the reopening information below.

VBPR reopen
To prioritize your health and safety, our reopening procedures exceed state and local COVID-19 initial Phase 2 Guidelines for Gymnasiums, Recreation Centers, Sports Facilities and Exercise Facilities.  

*Please stay at home if you have any of the following symptoms: cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, repeated shaking and chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or loss of taste or smell.

Important Information

  • Effective July 6 our new hours of operation at all rec centers *except Seatack are as follows:​
    • Monday - Friday 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. 
    • Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
    • Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Seatack Hours of Operation
    • Monday, Wednesday & Friday 8:30 a.m - 6:30 p.m.
    • Tuesday & Thursday 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
    • Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
    • Sunday Closed

  • ​Online reservations are required for all activities *except Racquetball
  • For Racquetball reservations, please call 24-hours in advance:
  • No front desk check-in, multiple entrances
  • Restrooms are open, but locker rooms are not
  • Current members only, no day passes 
  • No drop-in child care

​What we ask of you

  • Enter when it’s your reserved time at the designated entrance
  • Wear a face mask to enter and exit, not during exercise
  • Maintain 10-foot physical distancing in exercise areas
  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Bring your own water bottle, as water fountains will be closed off
  • Water bottle refill stations will be available

​What you can expect from us 

  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of equipment after every shift
  • Frequent disinfection of restrooms
  • Staff wearing masks 
  • Staff washing hands
  • Hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility 
  • Legendary customer service

Make Your Reservations

  • Registration opens each Friday for activities occurring the following Monday-Sunday       
  • Reservations close at 5 a.m. the day of the activity
  • Customers may reserve only 3 activities per week in the initial opening phase
  • Aqua tracks and walking tracks are closed
  • Starting July 6 all activities are 1-hour blocks *except Group Fitness
  • Group Fitness is a 45-minute block
  • Game Room: 
    • Ages 9 and older can be in Game Room without a parent and should be signed up under their own name + membership
    • Ages 8 and under can be in the Game Room with a parent and the parent should sign up
