Take your skills to the next level by practicing live game situation drills, teamwork concepts, scrimmage games, and other related drills in a fun play-to-learn environment. Master Lego Builder | ages 8 – 11

Aspiring engineers will engage in instructional design while building cool creations like businesses, green spaces, and high-rises to create a city of their dreams. This experience will boost confidence and creativity.

Players will improve individual technical skills while incorporating, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Camp is held on the Strawbridge Elementary school grounds next to Princess Anne Recreation Center. In the event of inclement weather, the program will move inside to the gym at Princess Anne Recreation Center. Sneakers are required to participate. Bring a water bottle and snack each day. Refrigeration is not available.

Come and join us as we introduce a variety of sports, including basketball, pickleball, volleyball, and more. Your children will be taught basic knowledge of each sport and will be able to play alongside other campers to showcase what they learned that day. Sneakers are required to participate. Welcome, all new and novice participants! This camp will develop your tennis fundamentals (e.g., groundstrokes, volley, serve) through a fun play-to-learn style of learning. Practice match play and learn sportsmanship and game rules. Different court sizes and modified tennis equipment will help youth to rally in no time. Camps are held on the Cox High School courts next to Great Neck Recreation Center. In the event of inclement weather, the program will move inside to the gym at Great Neck Recreation Center. Sneakers are required to participate. Bring a water bottle and snack each day. Refrigeration is not available.

Get your creative juices flowing with a week of painting with acrylics and watercolors, dabble with oil pastels, create some fun crafts, and meet new friends! Spend the week learning traditional Japanese Martial Arts with an emphasis on Aikido and Judo style. Participants will spend the morning with an experienced Martial Arts Instructor to develop discipline, confidence, and knowledge while mastering a new skill. We will break up the day with activities in the gym, pool, and activity room. Sneakers are required to participate. Morning and afternoon snacks and a lunch are needed daily. Refrigeration is not available.

Rock-it Rock Wall | ages 6-11

Learn how to climb Seatback's 24ft rock wall through instructional activities, challenges, and games. Teen Media Studio Camps

This program is designed to provide middle schoolers with hands-on opportunities to learn about audio production, photography, videography, and other aspects of video production. It will cover various forms of consumable media to include music, YouTube videos, podcasts, short films, etc. Bring a water bottle, lunch, and 2 snacks each day. Non-perishable and peanut-free is highly recommended. All participants must also have a valid recreation center membership or a day pass to participate (a day pass must be purchased each day).
Music In You | Rising 7th - 9th Graders

This program is designed to bring out the inner singer-songwriter/artist within each participant. Participants will learn that musical genius is not required to be a good songwriter or artist - only an understanding of the process, knowing what makes songs work, and having a passion to create. Participants will create their own songs, in various genres, and will be given the opportunity to record them at the end of the week. Bring a water bottle, lunch, and 2 snacks each day. Non-perishable and peanut-free is highly recommended. All participants must also have a valid recreation center membership or a day pass to participate (a day pass must be purchased each day).

How to Register
Please review the program eligibility requirements above. Priority Registration is online only beginning at 9am on March 19 and ends March 25 for current 2021/22 school year program or 2021 summer child care program participants. Standard Registration is online beginning at 9am on March 26 and ends June 5th.
When online registration is no longer available, please complete the summer camp interest form link located to the right of this page under Related Information (one form per child is needed). A Registration Management Team member will place your child on the waiting list and if space becomes available, they will contact you.
Important Notes About ePACT
Our required forms and documents are managed through ePACT. If this is your first time registering your child in an Out-of-School Time Program, you will receive an email from ePACT to complete our required registration forms and upload any required documents to the email address on your Parks & Recreation Account within 24 hours after your initial enrollment. If you previously completed ePACT for your child, a reconfirmation email from ePACT will be sent to the email address on your Parks & Recreation Account if any waivers and consents are required or the information previously submitted is outdated.
Once you receive the email from ePACT you will need to:
- Complete all general, medical, and Allergy/Dietary information regarding your child
- Complete all Family Information regarding parent/legal guardians related to your child
- Complete at least 2 Emergency Contacts other than a parent/legal guardian indicated
- Complete all waivers and consents
- Upload any required documents
- Legal Documents are required for anyone indicated as a Legal Guardian, Caregiver or NOT-Authorized to pick-up
- Original Birth Certificate & Commonwealth of Virginia School Entrance Health forms if one of the following applies to your child:
- Does NOT attend a Virginia Beach City Public School
- You answer NO to the Release of Virginia Beach City Public Schools Student Information Waiver/Consent
- Our Medication Forms if your child requires medication to be administered
- These forms are only valid for one year from the date the doctor authorize
- Share your child's ePACT record with our organization
