Page ContentLittle Island Park is a 144-acre beach park in Sandbridge, just north of Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. The park has a 775-foot beach north of the 400-foot fishing pier for surfing and a 2,000-foot beach for swimming and fishing south of the pier. Back Bay, a brackish lake, provides excellent fishing and crabbing along the western border of this unique park. Shelters are for day use only. Fishing Pier The 400 foot Little Island Fishing Pier is open seven days a week. Enjoy a newly improved pier walkway/railing, enhanced public access, and a new 200 linear foot pier-shoreline connection. Virginia Saltwater Fishing License is not required on the Fishing Pier, but is required to fish from the beach. Visitors must provide their own fishing equipment. Only service dogs are permitted on the pier.
