West Neck Creek Natural Area

​​​​​​​​​​​​The West Neck Creek Natural Area is a wooded 217-acre site located in the southern part of the city across from the Municipal Center along North Landing Road.

This natural area has been kept in its natural state with the exception of a series of shared-use​​ trails that total approximately 2.5 miles of soft path and .3 miles of paved ADA compliant trails. The trail system borders West Neck Road to the west and Princess Anne Road to the north. As a valuable aesthetic resource, the West Neck Creek Natural Area offers the opportunity for passive recreational uses, such as hiking, fishing, bird watching, horseback riding, nature observation and photography.​​​

  • Park operating hours indicate the times when facility parking lot gates, restrooms, offices, and other park amenities are opened and closed daily. All times are subject to change without notice or as posted and are dependent on scheduled special events and rentals at the facility.
  • All unstaffed community and neighborhood parks are available for use from sunrise to sunset daily. All day-use parks are posted as no trespassing after dark.
  • Parks and park facilities with lighted amenities will stay open until 11:00 p.m. between April 1 and November 30 to support city-sponsored leagues and programs as well as scheduled events and rentals.​​​
