Owl Creek Boat Ramp

The boat ramp features four concrete boat launch lanes with associated temporary mooring areas offering direct access to Rudee Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean via Owl Creek. The area offers lighting for evening use and portable restrooms are located onsite.
There is currently work being completed at the Owl Creek Boat Ramp and there may be some parking blocked intermittently for short periods of time including ADA spots. Any spaces blocked will be attempted to be un-blocked as soon as possible.
REPAIRS CLOSURE NOTICE (POSTED 5/26/22): Starting in June, portions of the Owl Creek Boat Ramp facility will be closed as repairs are made. The first stage will be the repairs to the South Tie Up Pier. This will require a partial closure of approximately ½ of the width of the adjacent launch bay. The two launch bases to the north will remain fully open. The installation of the new sheet piles and decking on the South Tie Up Pier will be from the land side. Safety fence and tree protection will be installed. The staging area will be a portion of the concrete pad within the red rectangle. This allows for all of the equipment operations to retrieve and install piles to be within the enclosed work zone. Two of the ADA parking areas will remain open. This work will take approximately 30 days.
The second stage is to replace several piles, the decking and railing on the North Tie Up Pier. These repairs will begin once the South Tie Up Pier repairs are completed and open for use. This work will take approximately 30 days. The North Tie Up Pier will be completely closed during this stage of the project.
There are minor repairs to the Finger Piers that will not require a closed work zone.
All work should be completed in approximately 2 months, weather depending. No work is planned on the weekends.

There are no fees for launching at the boat ramp. A free pump-out is located directly adjacent to the launch area. Canoe and kayak launching can occur but should be loaded and unloaded in the designated unloading area adjacent to the concrete launches. Motorized watercraft have launch priority, but please be courteous to those already in the process of launching.

Note: Fishing, crabbing, or net fishing is not allowed on the dock or mooring areas as well as the shore areas along the City property. There is ample on-site vehicle and trailer parking. Overflow parking located across General Both Blvd in grass overflow lot.
