September 22, 2017

We raised $5,300 for crucial programs like free swim lessons for students in Title I schools. We certainly could not have done it without the help of our volunteers and sponsors. We are grateful to Checkered Flag Auto Group, Virginia Beach Golf Management, S.B. Ballard Construction Company, Nick Anoia, Cindy Curtis, Susie Walston, Bill Emerson, Hugh Tierney, and Mike Fentress.

Virginia Beach Rotary Club provides grant funds for Students on the Swim

May 1, 2017
Virginia Beach Rotary Club has generously included the Students on the Swim program in their 2016 Community Grant. The club raises these funds through an annual Corks for Cures event in February, operating both a parking lot at the Strawberry Festival and a booth for the Neptune Festival. "We support about a dozen local non-profit agencies each year and know that providing swimming lessons for those youth who would likely not have the opportunity to learn both enhances and saves lives in a city like ours with so much water. We deeply appreciate the Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation Foundation’s offering this program for our community." - Dan Edwards, Virginia Beach Rotary Club
