If you love your library join the Friends!  The Friends is a membership only volunteer group that has been raising funds and supporting Virginia Beach Public Library since 1976. They volunteer precious time to run the Friends Book Shop, sort books and much more. ​

The Virginia Beach Library Foundation is a 501c3 certified public nonprofit whose mission is to secure, manage and invest privately raised funds, gifts and bequests in support of Virginia Beach Public Library.

Volunteer

Library volunteers share their time and talents in many ways. We need volunteers to partner with library staff to provide our customers with the quality services they expect and value. Whether you are interested in making a weekly commitment or working on a short-term project, we have a number of positions to choose from.
