Friends of the Library

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Friends of the Virginia Beach Public Library have been raising funds and supporting Virginia Beach Public Library since 1976. They volunteer precious time to run the Friends Book Shop, sort and sell ​books and much more. In the last decade, they’ve granted nearly $1 million to support the library and key programs including:

  • ​Summer Reading Program
  • Teen Services
  • Early Childhood Literacy centers, computers and programs
  • Services for the Visually Impaired​

 Be a Friend!

If you love your library, join the Friends. Dues are an important part of the Friends budget and they're tax deductible. Volunteering is optional, featuring rewarding opportunities to help your library and to make new friends. ​

 ​ Donations In Honor/In Memory

You can make a donation​ to the Friends in memory of or in honor of a loved one or friend. Your gift will be acknowledged with letters to the honoree and/or family members per your instructions. Donations are accepted at any Virginia Beach Public Library; you may also mail a check to Friends of Virginia Beach Public Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452.​
