Virginia Beach Public Library is excited to pilot online programming for children and adults on social media during our extended building closure. 

Facebook Online Programming

  • Wednesday, April 1, 9:30am – Virtual Just 2s Storytime.  Join Ms. Katie for stories, rhymes, songs, concepts (i.e. colors, shapes, letters, etc.) and build early literacy skills with your curious toddler.
  • Saturday, April 4, 9:30am – Virtual Preschool Science – Wind.  Join Ms. Ashley and Ms. Grace, from Central Library, as we learn about the Science of Wind. Follow along with hands-on activities from home.
  • Wednesday, April 8, 9:30am - Virtual Family Storytime.  Join Ms. Kathleen from the Princess Anne Library for a Family Storytime filled with music, stories, and rhyme. Perfect for the whole family to enjoy together.
  • Saturday, April 11, 9:30am - Virtual Preschool Storytime.  Join Ms. Diane from VBPL's Early Literacy Outreach division for a storytime that builds letter recognition and activities that support independence and confidence building.  Includes books, rhymes and literacy activities to prepare children for kindergarten. 
  • Wednesday, April 15, 9:30am - Virtual Just 2s Storytime.  Join Ms. Lynn, from the Oceanfront and Great Neck Libraries, for stories, rhymes, songs, concepts (i.e. colors, shapes, letters, etc.) and build early literacy skills with your curious toddler. 
  • Saturday, April 18, 9:30 a.m. – Virtual Rhyme Time for Babies and Onesies.  Join Ms. Lynn, who you may know from the Oceanfront and Great Neck Libraries, for a storytime perfect for the baby in your life. This Rhyme Time builds early language and motor skills through rhymes, books, baby sign language and hands-on activities.
  • Thursday, April 23, 6pm – Online Book Club for adults  April's Online Book Club book is Perfect Little World by Kevin Wilson. The eBook and audiobook versions are available through Hoopla digital
