​Virginia Lawyer Referral Services

  • The Virginia Bar Association can help you access a lawyer's information, search their disciplinary records, and find a lawyer that's right for you.
  • The Virginia Access to Justice Commission is a resource for finding free or low-cost legal assistance and assistance for self-represented litigants in Virginia 

Nationwide Lawyer Referral Services

  • Martindale has resources for finding attorneys and law firms by location and by practice area.
  • The American Bar Association​​ has information on a variety of legal topics and links to legal help resources.

​​Legal Databases at VBPL

  • LEXIS  and Westlaw are available for use at the Wahab Public Law Library
  • LEXIS is available for use at other branches of VBPL, except for the Joint Use Library. Once logged on to a library computer, using your library card and account pin, you will be able to access LEXIS via the library's website, under Digital Library, Research, Resources List A-Z.
