Battle of the Books

Compete in a game show-style reading challenge for the chance to read great books, have fun with friends and win exciting prizes. Create a team of up to five students; register at your local library and read the Battle of the Books titles. This year VBPL is hosting Fifth Grade AND Middle School competitions.

 5th Grade

​All team members must be current 5th graders.

Team Registration*:
Oct. 1, 2019 - Jan. 18, 2020

Preliminary Battles:
Feb. 10 - 28, 2020

Semi-Final Battles:
March 9 & 10

Final Battle:
March 14 at 6 p.m. @MEO Central Library

*Teams must participate at the library in their service area and may only compete in one preliminary battle. Individuals may only participate on one team.

5th Grade Battle of the Books 2020 Titles
Questions for the competition will come from the following books*:

*Be aware that some titles are available in annotated versions or graphic novels. All questions come from the traditional print format and these alternative formats will not be used.
