Child Care programs are child centered family-focused services that support the family goals of economic self-sufficiency and child development by providing substitute parental care, protection, guidance and early childhood education. Parents or caretakers of a child/children under the age of 13 who are working, receiving agency approved education/training or participating in the agency's VIEW (Virginia's Initiative for Employment not Welfare) or SNAPET (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment & Training) programs may qualify for the subsidy program.
To apply for services, an applicant must fill out a Child Care Subsidy application which serves as the formal request for child care services. The application can be found online at www.commonhelp.virginia.gov or you can call the Child Care Department at 757-385-3351 for more information.
