Housing Opportunities for People with HIV/AIDS (HOPWA) Needs Assessment

​​The City of Virginia Beach, the jurisdiction for the Regional HOPWA Program, will hold Needs Assessment Public Forums for the purpose of obtaining citizen input regarding the use of federal funds for the Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) Program. This program covers the areas of Chesapeake, Gloucester, Hampton, Isle of Wight, James City County, Mathews, Norfolk, Newport News, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Surry, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, York, and Currituck County, North Carolina.

As part of the process of making decisions regarding the use of these federal funds, we are seeking the public’s assistance in determining critical needs that you believe should be addressed in the region relating to housing resources for people with HIV/AIDS.

The input will be used to guide resources toward increasing the most needed housing and service options, understanding unmet needs, and providing opportunity for citizen input in accordance with HUD requirements and the City’s Five-Year Consolidated Action Plan.​
