CARES Act Housing Funds

On April 28, 2020 the City Council voted to adopt an ordinance to appropriate $2 million in Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funds through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to help the community with housing and homelessness-related issues caused by COVID-19.

The Department of Housing & Neighborhood Preservation presented its draft plan on the proposed uses of Federal CARES Act funds for housing assistance during the City Council Special Electronic Meeting on April 28.

The final plan and City approval will be submitted to the HUD - Richmond Community Planning and Development (CPD) office for approval.
