HUD CDBG Funds Under Federal CARES Act -- 3rd Allocation: 
Five-day Public Comment Period for Proposed Uses of CDBG CARES-3 Funds: Oct. 9 - 15, 2020
Virtual Public Hearing: Oct. 15, 2020 at 5 p.m.

The City of Virginia Beach will be receiving a special allocation of $2,069,846 in HUD Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds through the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act  to help the community with housing and homelessness related issues caused by COVID-19. This allocation will be the third round of CDBG CARES funds received by the city.

​HUD CARES Funds -- 2nd Allocation:

The proposed uses for the second allocation of HUD CARES funds received by the city was included in the 2020-2025 draft Five-Year Consolidated Strategic Plan (CSP) and FY 20-21 draft Annual Action Plan (AAP). Click here to view the draft plans.
Federal CARES Funds -- 1st Allocation:

​On April 28, 2020 the City Council voted to adopt an ordinance to appropriate $2 million in Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funds through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to help the community with housing and homelessness-related issues caused by COVID-19. 

The Department of Housing & Neighborhood Preservation presented its draft plan on the proposed uses of Federal CARES Act funds for housing assistance during the City Council Special Electronic Meeting on April 28. 

The final plan and City approval was be submitted to the HUD - Richmond Community Planning and Development (CPD) office.
