New Waves
This annual juried exhibition at the Virginia Museum of
Contemporary Art (MOCA) features artists from across Virginia. Each year this
exciting exhibition demonstrates the diversity of materials and approaches that
are used in contemporary art today.
April:
East Beach Art Show
Annual art show held in Norfolk's East Beach neighborhood,
featuring local artists and live entertainment.
May:
Stockley Gardens Art Festival
The Stockley Gardens Art Festival is held twice a year in
Norfolk’s historic Ghent neighborhood. The festival features over 130 artists
displaying jewelry, pottery, paintings, sculptures, and other works of art,
live entertainment, and an artist’s reception.
June:
The Boardwalk Art Show
The Boardwalk Art Show is one of the oldest and best outdoor
fine art shows on the East Coast, and this year will mark the 60th Anniversary.
The show is consistently ranked in Sunshine Artist Magazine's Top 40 fine art
shows. With an average attendance each year of more than 200,0000, this
four-day festival attracts collectors and artists from across the nation.
August:
Seawall
With more than 30 years of experience showcasing juried fine
arts and fine crafts on the Portsmouth waterfront, the Seawall Art Show draws large
crowds of art buyers to this prestigious event. With assistance from the
Portsmouth Museum and Fine Arts Commission, this show is run by volunteers and
all proceeds support the arts in Portsmouth.
September:
Neptune Festival Art and Craft Show
Enjoy arts and crafts under the sun with an unbeatable
backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. The Neptune Festival Arts and Craft Show
features over 270 artisans displaying handmade work from paintings and
sculptures, to photography and glasswork.
