Construction Begins on New Woodstock Skate Park

Following extensive public feedback, Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation and Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD) have unveiled the final design of the new Woodstock Skate Park. 

skate park renderingThe new, 30,000 square-foot park was designed by the creative minds at Team Pain. Construction began Monday, Sept. 14 with expected completion in summer 2021.The park will showcase a mix of transitional and street elements including premium features such as:
  • Snake run and two-level bowl with waterfall, five corners and two hips
  • Quarter pipe with extension
  • Ledge runs, stair sets, wall rides, snake run, banks, hips, rails and other custom ledges
  • Warm-up area
  • Shaded viewing spots

The skate park replacement is part of the Woodstock Park Improvement Project, a partnership between Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation and HRSD. The project is bringing exciting changes to the heavily utilized community park, including many upgraded amenities and a 5.2-million-gallon wet weather offline storage tank that will be housed below the brand-new skate park facility. The project is scheduled to be completed in summer of 2021, weather and construction permitting.
