Virginia Beach Celebrates Military Appreciation Month with Discounts for Service Members

During the month of May, discounts are available on Sundays and Mondays at the Virginia Aquarium and on Fridays at the City’s recreation centers.

The Virginia Aquarium is honoring service members on Sundays and Mondays during the month of May. Anyone who shows a valid military ID will receive 50% off the purchase of an Aquarium admission (may not be combined with any other discount or offer). Tickets must be purchased in person.

Acceptable forms of identification include a Military ID Card (active/reserve/retired); Veterans Affairs ID card; current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES); Driver's License with Veterans Designation; government (local, state, or national) ID with individual photographed in uniform; wearing your uniform (if your service permits); Veterans Organization Card (e.g. American Legion and VFW); Federal Veterans ID Card; DD214; discharge paperwork; or other form of identification showing military service and status.

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is also celebrating our brave military service members during National Military Appreciation Month by offering individuals with a military ID a free visit at any of the City’s seven recreation centers every Friday in May. This offer applies to active-duty personnel, retirees and dependents with a valid military ID. 
Patrons are also invited to honor service members by name on each recreation center’s "Wall of Heroes" all month long.
