The family-friendly Last Night on the Town New Year's event is celebrating its 9th year and will once again bring free activities and entertainment to Town Center with food and adult beverages available for purchase.
If you're not sure how to celebrate this year, head to the Countdown Stage on Columbus Street for a night of fun and live throwback music from performers including Grammy Award-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco, Asheville, N.C.-based Brass/Funk/Rock band Empire Strikes Brass and Monotronic, a New-York-based band that blends electronic dance with improvisational world music.

Family-Friendly Activities at Fountain Plaza
From 6 to 9 p.m. at Town Center Plaza a family-friendly DJ with light-up dance flower will be rocking the lower plaza as novelty entertainers such as stilt walkers, LED hoop artists and jugglers roam the area. There will even be a dance off for kids under 12.

VIP tickets are $165 per person or $308 per couple. Please note that VIP guests must be 21 or older and this event will be held rain or shine. Tickets are non-refundable.
Please note that outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the event space and beverage proceeds benefit the Virginia Legends Walk. For everyone's safety, event security may screen individuals and search bags of guests entering the event.
Streets for the event will be closing earlier in the day. Columbus Street will be closed from Market Street to Constitution Drive on New Year's Eve. Central Park Avenue and Town Center Drive will also have closures. Attendees will still have ample access to free parking garages. As garages fill, guests will be routed to the nearest garage with free space. Overflow parking is also available at the Bed Bath & Beyond.
Town Center restaurants will be open and offering great specials, however, due to anticipated crowds, reservations are encouraged.
