Rocky, who is approximately 25 pounds and about 25 inches tall at the shoulders, escaped from his home in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in October and has been on the lam for more than six months.

His owner has been located and is assisting Animal Control in the effort to catch him. The cat is wearing a GPS tracking collar but unfortunately, that collar’s battery died about three days after he went missing, leaving his owner unable to determine his whereabouts.

Rocky is a domesticated pet accustomed to being around dogs, people and children. However, he has been out on his own for a long time and is unlikely to approach people. Be advised that he will hunt small mammals and birds, and has been known to take a chicken or two.

If you spot Rocky, please do not approach him. Instead, notify dispatch immediately by calling 757-385-5000 (option #2).
