The City Council has established an eleven-member Process Improvement Steering Committee (PISC) to gather information regarding a broad range of issues which include:
- Improve processes;
- Improve communications within the various aspects of City government and between the City government and the people it serves; and
- Develop contingency plans to address a variety of situations that could adversely affect our citizens.
The committee shall serve in an advisory capacity to City Council. It is not a policy making body. The function of the committee will be to work in harmony with City Council and City management to identify problems and barriers that may have negative impact on City operations, efficiency and effectiveness and facilitate solutions.
Meetings are open to the public. They are held at 3:00 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month at City Hall, Building 1, 2401 Courthouse Drive, Room 2014. Call or email to confirm meeting dates.
The tasks of the committee shall include obtaining input from citizens, staff, colleges and universities, and subject matter experts regarding process improvement through surveys, town hall meetings, focus groups and/or other means; developing an inventory of situations and scenarios that the City may face in the future, along with options and contingency plans to address those situations; and developing an inventory of subject matter experts and establishing targeted ad hoc committees as needed to address individual issues.
