The Office of the City Auditor works in conjunction with the Virginia Beach Police Department, the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies when appropriate.
If you have information related to suspected fraud, waste or abuse within City of Virginia Beach operations, please report it to the Office of the City Auditor immediately. You may contact us in a number of ways, depending on what is convenient for you. Please be as specific as possible when describing the situation. Communication with us is confidential. If you wish to remain anonymous, please send us a detailed description through the mail.

The Office of the City Auditor is located in Room 344 in Building 1 at the Municipal Center. Our office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Call the Fraud Hotline at (757) 468-3330 which may be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Voicemail will be activated on holidays, weekends and when staff is unavailable to answer calls. Callers may remain anonymous. Caller ID and call back features have been disabled to maintain confidentiality. Our office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
