​​​​4-H Guardians of the Planet Club

The Club will focus on plant and garden projects such as: edible crops, vegetable gardening, herbs, trees and shrubs; flower gardening, annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees, lawn care; plant propagation by seeds, divisions, cuttings and grafting; garden soils components, improvement, composting, testing; garden design of vegetable, flower and landscape areas; garden appreciation and visitation​; garden care: weed control, disease control, pruning, fertilization; and citizenship, natural resources and environmental education, careers and economic education and leadership and personal development.   Joining 4-H is free; however, there may be nominal fees to cover materials used in the classes.​ 

The 4-H Guardians of the Planet​ Club is a community club which meets at McDonald Garden Center, 1144 Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach September through December on the third Thursday of each month from 6:00-8:30 p.m., and at the Hampton Roads Agricultural Research and Extension Center, 1444 Diamond Springs Rd.,​ Virginia Beach, January through August, same time.​  ​

4-H Livestock Club

The Livestock Club is a community service club for youth ages 9-19 and has project emphasis on livestock, e.g., steers, hogs, sheep, and goats.  

Meetings are held the 4th Monday of September through June at Charity United Methodist Church from 7-8 p.m.​

​​​Foragers 4-H Beekeeping Club

Come learn why these insects are vital to our lives and eventually become a beekeeper to your own hive.  

The Foragers 4-H Beekeeping Club meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Extension Office, 2449 Princess Anne Rd. (Bldg. 14, Municipal Center)​​

​K-9 K.O.A.R (Knowledge, Obedience, Agility, Rally)

Open to youth ages 9-18, the K-9 K.O.A.R.​ helps 4-H'ers learn about dog care and training through dog companion events of Obedience, Agility and Rally.  We are made up of kids and their dogs (as well as our adult volunteers) from all over Hampton Roads.  

Meetings are held the 3rd Friday of each month at Family Dog Club at 6:30 p.m. ​​

​​​Seahorse Riders 4-H Horse Club

Seahorse Riders is open to youth ages 9-19 who are interested in horses and other 4-H projects and activities. For more information, contact the 4-H Office. ​

Virginia Junior Master Naturalists​

Junior Master Naturalists​ is a environmental program open to children and teens that would like to expand their environmental science backgrounds as well as acquire skills in preservation, stewardship, and leadership. Youth Members 8-13 will have fun outdoors, learn about nature and become environmental stewards. Teen members 14-18 will grow their confidence and leadership skills, while delving deeper into nature-related topics, mastering naturalist skills, and sharing their knowledge with the youth members. 

Meetings are held at The Brock Environmental Center, 3663 Marlin Bay Dr., Virginia Beach. 

 Crafts

​​4-H Craft Club

The Craft Club is open to youth ages 5-19 and meets at the 4-H Office the 2nd Tuesday of October through May from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.  Club activities include rubber stamping, painting, paper crafts, and community service projects. Joining 4-H is free; however, there may be nominal fees to cover materials used in the classes.​

This organization is open to adult 4-H volunteers who are interested in keeping up-to-date on 4-H Clubs and programming in the City of Virginia Beach. 

 Military 4-H

Fort Story Knight Riders and Cloverbud 4-H Clubs

This military community club meets on Joint Expeditionary Base Fort Story and is for military dependents ages 5-19.  Contact the Virginia Beach Extension Office (4-H Office) for more information on meeting times and location. 

Golden Leaves and Barley Buds 4-H Clubs

This military community club meets on Naval Air Station, Oceana and is for military dependents ages 5-19.  Contact the Virginia Beach Extension Office (4-H Office) for more information on meeting times and location.​

Lucky Charms 4-H Club - Midway Manor

This military community club meets at Midway Manor and is for military dependents ages 5-19.  Contact the Virginia Beach Extension Office (4-H Office) for more information on meeting times and location. ​

Urban Knights and Underwater Clover​bud​​ 4-H Clubs

This military community club meets on Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek and is for military dependents ages 5-19.  Contact the Virginia Beach Extension Office (4-H Office) for more information on meeting times and location.​​

​Top Shooters 4-H Shooting Education Club

Shooting ClubTop Shooters is open to youth ​ages 9-19 who are interested in gaining knowledge on safe firearm handling.  The Club offers youth a wide variety of disciplines to choose from:

  • Shotgun
  • Muzzleloader
  • Hunting

Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Virginia Beach 4-H Office from 7 - 8 p.m.​
