Earth Hour 2015

March 28, 2015, 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Join us at Earth Hour and be a part of a global community that is taking action toward a more sustainable future. A simple idea to switch off your lights for an hour has become the world's fastest growing environmental movement.

On Saturday, March 28 at 8:30 p.m. the City of Virginia Beach will participate  for a second time in this global initiative by turning off all non-essential lights for one hour. Through this symbolic action, the City strives to encourage residents and businesses to turn off their lights, and to find ways in which they can become more sustainable.

Last year some of the most recognizable buildings in Virginia Beach turned off their lights for an hour:
  • Westin Tower
  • Armada Hoffler Tower
  • City Seal on Mount Trashmore Park
  • Virginia Beach Convention Center
  • Sandler Center for Performing Arts
  • Virginia Aquarium
  • Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art
  • Tidewater Community College – Virginia Beach Campus
  • Advanced Technology Center
  • Virginia Beach City Public Schools
  • City of Virginia Beach
  • Croc's 19th Street Bistro
  • Virginia Natural Gas

Together we can inspire change, big or small, to change the world we live in.
