Kempsville Greens Golf Course
Come early to the Kempsville Greens Golf Course and warm up with a free bucket of balls on the driving range. This exciting 5,500 yard par 70 public course features Bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens, and offers golfers a mildly challenging back nine with numerous bunkers and water hazards. Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be provided throughout the day​​​​​​. Register online​

Guests are welcome to come celebrate as Virginia Beach receives its 38th consecutive "Tree City USA" Award from the Virginia Department of Forestry. The "Tree City USA" award identifies the city as a community that has a proven commitment to an ongoing community forestry program. Mayor Will Sessoms along with representatives from the Council of Garden Clubs of Virginia Beach, Virginia Beach Beautification Commission, Virginia Beach Master Gardener Tree Stewards, and students from Kempsville Meadows Elementary School will also participate in the Arbor Day festivities.​

Calling kids of all ages! Experience the thrill of sitting behind the wheel of fascinating community vehicles including the Fire Department's Monster Truck, a police car, street sweeper, dump truck and more! Face painting, children's crafts and our DJ spinning tunes guarantees the fun! NEW THIS YEAR - we are doing a "Low Sensory Hour" for the first hour of the event. This is an opportunity for families with children who are anxious by loud sounds and blinking lights to attend the event without those effects.

Rides, games and traditional state fair foods are all available at the Summer Carnival at Mount Trashmore Park. Located in the parking lot off Edwin Drive, the carnival is great for all ages and offers free admission and free parking. ​

Age 5-14 with parent or guardian | Help your child(ren)​ tackle the basics of angling Virginia's waters by attending this free family fishing clinic. Team up with experienced fishermen for guided instruction and beginning fishing skills. Fishing poles, tackle, and bait provided if needed. Hot dog lunch included. Limited to the first 125 registered participants. Advance registration required and available beginning ​May 1.​

Clean the Bay Day is a true Virginia Beach tradition and an annual opportunity for families, military installations, businesses, clubs, civic or church groups to come together for a common cause - clean water.​ Help the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in their mission to Save the Bay!
