The Virginia Beach Planning Commission is reviewing a proposed amendment to the City Zoning Ordinance that would regulate electronic display signs, also known as LED signs. The commission is seeking public input on the issue. A workshop is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, on the second floor of City Hall. The proposed ordinance only addresses on-site signs. It does not pertain to billboards. Currently, the Planning Commission is not considering any ordinance changes to the city regulation of billboards, which remain prohibited within Virginia Beach.
