Members from the Department of Emergency Medical Services will be on site at the Farmers Market during “Safety Day,” Saturday, September 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3640 Dam Neck Road. During the event families will have the opportunity to tour an ambulance from rescue station Ocean Park, squad truck and support truck. Information regarding how to become a volunteer with Virginia Beach EMS will be available upon request. This is a great opportunity to see first hand what EMS is all about and how citizens can get involved and help support the 10 volunteer rescue squads throughout the city. In addition, children will be able to observe and learn about what happens to patients when they are being helped in the ambulance. For information on how to join a volunteer rescue squad, call (757) 385-1999 or visit our Web site at www.vabeachems.com. ### 317ems |
