Fiscal Year 2002 - 2003 Accomplishments

Developed the Center for GIS (CGIS) three-year operational plan
Launched the City of Virginia Beach eMapping application on the VBGov website in April, 2003
Received and compiled city wide 2002 aerial photography
Completed over 500 requests for assistance from city stakeholders and citizens
Assisted the Department of Public Utilities to develop customized GIS applications
Completed the State Scanning Grant project for the Clerk of the Virginia Beach Circuit Court
Established the Virginia Beach Street Lights Inventory project for Department of Public Works resulting in a first-year cost-savings of approximately one quarter of a million dollars
Maintained over three million GIS elements in the CGIS core datasets including 140,000 parcels, 18,000 condominums, and 20,000 street centerlines.
