The annual Tidewater Veterans Day Parade will be held Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront beginning at 9 a.m. The parade route starts at 16th and Atlantic, and ends at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial located at 19th Street across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

The annual Veterans Day Ceremony will take place following the parade at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial where a wreath laying ceremony and salute to veterans will take place as part of the formal event.

This year’s Grand Marshal is Chesapeake Mayor Alan Krasnoff and the Co-Marshal is James R. Chapman, American Legion vice-commander, Department of Virginia.

The parade's sponsor, the Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations and the co-sponsor, The American Legion along with the City Mayors of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach, cordially invite all residents of the Hampton Roads area to this event.
