Councilmember Louis Jones has served on the City Council since 1982. He also served as mayor from 1982 to 1984. He is the owner and operator of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Old Dominion University. Jones serves on the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission and is a member of its Metropolitan Planning Organization. He also serves as a member of the board of directors of Resource Bank, as council liaison with the Virginia Beach Development Authority and as a member of the Lake Gaston Water Task Force.
