Virginia Beach Mayor William D. Sessoms, Jr. highlights the past and looks toward the future in the annual State of the City address that he presented on March 12, 2009.

In his remarks, the Mayor touts the city’s rock solid foundation, and its ability to weather the current economic storms.  Sessoms cites “Powerful Forces at Work,” which are unique and diverse strengths, such as the military, tourism, agriculture, the business community and involved citizens.  He also announces the expansion and location of three international firms in Virginia Beach that will bring high paying, high-tech jobs to the city. 

Taped in its entirety and closed-captioned, the State of the City address is scheduled for replay on VBTV, (Cox Channel 48, Verizon Channel 45, and Cavalier Channel 119) Sunday at 12 a.m., Monday at 6 p.m., Tuesday at 12 a.m., Wednesday at  9 p.m., Thursday at 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.;  Friday at 5 a.m.; Saturday at 6 p.m.  The program also airs on VBTV (Cox /Verizon Channel 47, and Cavalier Channel 118) Friday at 7 p.m.
