Virginia Beach Mayor William D. Sessoms, Jr. highlights the past and looks toward the future in the annual State of the City address that he presented on March 12, 2009. In his remarks, the Mayor touts the city’s rock solid foundation, and its ability to weather the current economic storms. Sessoms cites “Powerful Forces at Work,” which are unique and diverse strengths, such as the military, tourism, agriculture, the business community and involved citizens. He also announces the expansion and location of three international firms in Virginia Beach that will bring high paying, high-tech jobs to the city.
