The Best Defense: Free Self-Defense & Awareness Workshop Conducted by the Virginia Beach Police Department
1-4 pm, Saturday, 1-4 pm, Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Princess Anne Recreation Center

Don’t become a crime statistic! Attend “The Best Defense” a free self-defense workshop brought to you by the Virginia Beach Police Department and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation. Participants will increase awareness of the environment, learn about crime prevention, obtain personal safety tips, and learn how to escape from potentially dangerous situations. Geared for those ages 12 & up, this self-defense workshop features simple skills that participants will practice under the supervision of Virginia Beach Police Department instructors.

Please note that for this free workshop, a membership card is not required. All participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing; jewelry, especially earrings or necklaces, should not be worn. Those under age 16 must participate with a parent or guardian. Register as soon as possible as this is a very popular workshop, registration will be accepted until November 9, 2009.
