Multimedia Services Mission Statement:
To promote community awareness and understanding of municipal and public education information through the use of multimedia services.

Multimedia Services is a division of the Department of Communications and Information Technology. It serves municipal and public school agencies by creating and delivering information content to citizens and visitors of Virginia Beach via the Web, cable television, and a low-powered emergency AM radio station.

VBgov.com
VBgov.com is the city's award-winning government Web site. It serves as a Web portal through which visitors can access information and services provided by the City of Virginia Beach.

Online services include payment of city bills and Police citations; registration for Parks and Recreation classes; access to Police crime reports; library catalog search and book reservations; request for municipal services; and much more.

VBgov.com is a dynamic Web site with new content posted daily. City departments create and maintain their own content ensuring delivery of the most current information available.

VBTV
Virginia Beach Television (VBTV) is the city's municipal cable television stations. VBTV provides expanded programming, designed to offer the information you want, when you want. Programs like Bill Nye the Science Guy, Assignment the World, and Annenberg Teacher Development have joined VBTV standards like Access Virginia Beach, How in the World and The School Picture to provide easily acessible block programming in our weekly schedule.

VBAM
VBAM Radio is a low-powered AM radio service designed to disseminate accurate and timely public safety emergency messages, warnings, alerts and notifications to the public via broadcast AM 1680. Non-emergency public information messages and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather radio are provided as a secondary use to inform the public, city & school employees, volunteers, and visitors. The station, powered by four transmission antennas located throughout the city, is primarily targeted at travelers on the roadways throughout the city.
