We are pleased to operate six community recreation centers, each with an indoor swimming pool, indoor gymnasium, and ample room for various programs. A valid membership or visitor pass is required to participate in most programs, classes and events.

Why join Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation?  

• Membership provides entry to all six (6) of the city's Community Recreation Centers.
• A Membership Card or Visitor Pass is required for all recreation center events, classes, and programs. Ceramics, pottery, golf and parks do not require a Membership Card.
• Members receive the catalog of classes and programs directly through the mail.
• Members receive a $5 discount on Virginia Musical Theater tickets.
• Please note: Membership Cards must be presented to receive services.

A Membership Card is required for those three years of age and older.

How do you join?
Stop by any Recreation Center during their normal front desk hours and let the staff know that you want to purchase an annual membership. Since photos are taken at the time of purchase, you must go in person to get a membership. (Note: we do sell gift certificates that others can redeem for a membership. These make great gifts!)

Some notes about purchasing your membership:

• Two proofs of residency, one from each category, are required at the time of purchase.

• Your picture will be taken at the time of purchase.
• Membership cards may be purchased at any Community Recreation center during normal front desk hours, and refunds will be granted if the request is made within 30 days of purchase.

Please note: You must reside in Virginia Beach to receive the discounted rate.

How do you find out when your membership is going to expire?
Simply call or stop by any Recreation Center during their normal front desk hours to inquire. (To preserve the integrity of your account, you may need to supply your family PIN if you inquire by phone.)

Fun pack: Now you can purchase 10 visits for a reduced price! Passes are redeemable at any recreation center and are valid for 10 one-day visits within a 12-month period from the date of purchase. Program requirements will apply, and a photo ID may be required for some programs. Fun packs are non-refundable.
