The Waste Management Division is responsible for providing collection, disposal, and recycling services to the residents of Virginia Beach. Keeping Virginia Beach clean is a monumental task. Waste Collection crews travel over one million miles, making more than 6 million pickups, and collecting 200,000 tons of waste each year. In addition, about 35,000 tons of recyclable material is collected from drop-off recycling centers and our curbside recycling service.

Please take our brief recycling survey for Virginia Beach residents.  All participants who provide their contact information will be entered into a drawing for gift certificates to local "green" restaurants!  The Virginia Beach Recycling Survey will close on 11/12/09.  Winners will be announced at the Virginia Beach Celebrates America Recycle's Day event at Mt. Trashmore Park, Sunday, November 15 from 12 - 4 pm.  Thank you from the Public Works/ Waste Management Team.
